Previous versions of Dynamics GP have introduced peak advances in terms of the workflow management, covering wide range of business processes such as: requisition management, purchase order processing, batch posting ...etc. The release of Dynamics GP 2016 doesn't give much weight though to workflow since the module has almost achieved a considerable progress.
Additional Control - Workflow Ste |
Nonetheless, a new feature has been added to reflect user requirements which represents additional control on the workflow step, when the condition is not met.
- Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Company > Workflow > Workflow Maintenance
- Create a new workflow
- Create a new step. Under condition, you will find additional control as highlighted below
The purpose of these options is to control what's going to occur when a specific workflow step is not met, the options are:
Option One | End the Workflow Path
“When the instance of the step is reached in an instance of
the workflow, the sequential steps following the step that do not also follow
other parallel steps that do run are also not run. If there are no other parallel
steps that do meet conditions for running, then the workflow is completed at
that point. When the step is reached in an instance of the workflow, the step
status for the instance of the step is set to No Action Needed, and a workflow
history record is created for the step.”
Option Two | Continue to the next step
“When the step is reached in an instance of the workflow, the
workflow continues to any sequential steps following the step for which the
condition was not met. The step status for the instance of the step is set to
No Action Needed."
Option Three | Reject the workflow
“When the step is reached in an instance of the workflow, the
step status for the instance of the step is set to Rejected, the workflow
status for the document is set to Rejected, and all pending workflow user
activity for all workflow steps (tasks and approvals) for the document are
cancelled. “
