Recently, PSTL related case was reported on the community for clients who upgraded to Dynamics GP 2015, it seems there is a problem with the version number of this product and associated dictionary files. Here are the errors:
“InValid Versions ! This version of professional services tools is only compatible on GP 2013”
Important Note !
This is not an upgrade issue, it occurs with new installations of GP 2015 as well.

The PSTL loads the form after prompting the message above, then it gives another error message as you click on any of the tools, it indicates that the utility is not registered.
“You are not registered for this selected utility”
Resolution
This was reported as a known issue by the support team, and a chunk file was provided on the partner source to get this resolved. To resolve this problem, follow the steps below:
- Initially, go to control panel and remove the PSTL from the add remove features.
- Once the PSTL is removed, proceed and download the chunk file from the partner source. Here is the download link. Remember, you need a partner source account. So if you only have a customer source account, refer to your partner to provide you with the download file accordingly.
- Unzip the the PSTL_GP_14.0.3_Release.zip file (downloaded in the previous step), and put it in your installation folder on the default path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2015)
Helping Note !
Take a back up of the whole installation folder before placing the chunk file within, it is quite important before running the new code. - Run Microsoft Dynamics GP as an administrator, you will be prompted with a message that new code must be included in the installation folder, click “Yes” to proceed
- Now open Microsoft Dynamics GO to find the PSTL instead of the customer exception tab.

DeleteWhen I ran DELETE SY07130 against DYNAMICS, it removed all but 3rd party apps! Any ideas?

DeleteSY07130 is the navigation bar buttons table, deleting the corrupted records shall correct the incorrect "Customer Exception" button appearing on the navigation list instead of the usual PSTL. What do you mean by removing all but 3rd party apps ?

Financials, Purchasing, Sales, Administration, etc. ... all disappeared as navigation buttons. Binary MEM stayed as navigation buttons. I had to restore DYNAMICS.
DeleteSame thing happened to me. All the GP Navigation lists disappeared. The only modules shown in the Navigation list is third party applications.

Deleting the records in this table is the official solution provided by Microsoft. I have tried it in several environment and never experienced such case.
DeleteIn your case, I would advise to restore DYNAMICS db as the ultimate solution.

This will permanently break GP. It needs to be changed to:
Deletedelete from SY07130 where CmdParentDictID = '1838'
The only time the official solution will work is if it is a vanilla GP installation with no 3rd party products in the menu.
This is easily repro'ed. Microsoft needs to change their official solution.

ReplyDeleteI am trying to run the Acct Modifier/Combiner and having an issue where the system is telling me that the from and to cannot be the same. I have copied my live company and restored into test and the issue is happening in test. I had a tab delimited file with 60 lines and it failed. I have no headers, no blank rows, no duplicates and it still failed. I then created a sample file of 3 and ran it and it failed. I then loaded the sample with 3 in it and ran the "select * from TACHANGE" and it only showed 2 records (which is very strange) and it still failed to run. Any ideas on what to try? The file has 2 columns, first is the old account and the second is the new account.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are on PSTL version 14.0.3 and on version GP14.00.0898 (R2).

For anyone seeing this later, the advice above to delete the data table on this version of GP will delete all third party applications from the menus, as reported above. It will not recreate the menus, forcing a restore of DYNAMICS.
